Public Parks and Gardens

Visitors and citizens of Holon can enjoy a wide variety of public parks and gardens. The Friends of Holon Foundation is proud to highlight two garden projects that deserve special attention and support for further development:
Story Gardens
Noah’s Ark Garden

Story Gardens (Project No. PG01)

The Story Gardens are spread over the city of Holon. So far 16 public gardens feature environmental sculptures created by well-known artists and inspired by famous children’s stories and fairy-tales like ‘My Uncle Simha’, ‘Kaspion the Small Fish’ and ‘Itamar Climbing Up the Wall’. In a developing city, green lungs are indispensable for a healthy life-style. More story gardens are being considered for development.

Noah’s Ark Garden (Project No. PG02)

After reconstruction, the Four Countries Garden in the Jessi Cohen neighborhood, one of the oldest and most deprived areas in Holon, will be re-named as Noah’s Ark Garden. This garden exists since the1950s and is a main passage between surrounding neighborhoods and some of Holon’s cultural highlights. Walking trails and passageways in the park will be renewed, infrastructure will be restored, a playground for children will be established and a new environmental sculpture, Noah’s Ark, will integrate this garden into the Story Gardens of Holon. Noah’s Ark on its own will be a tribute to the children of the neighborhood’s religious elementary school.
